Do you have any weight limit for your legs?

Regarding weight limit for our legs, we refer to the following recommendations:

For storage: Our legs can carry a lot, but a good way to know about weight limit is to look at the legs attached to the furniture when you bought it. If the furniture doesn't have any legs there might be similar products to look at for reference. There will probably not be a problem for the legs to hold the weight, but the furniture can feel unstable if you attach to high legs. This is also why we always recommend our customers to attach their cabinets and drawers to a wall.

For table: Our table legs can carry a lot and for tables, the main problem is stability. You don't want a shaky table and this can be avoid by only using the 700-legs for tops not larger then 1,3 square meters (14 sqft). Some table tops from IKEA is sold together with a trestle leg or with legs attached to a frame. These table tops needs extra support because of weight, material or size. We don't recommend our customers to attach our single 4 legs to these tops.

For bed: All legs that are in the category "Bed" can be used. These legs are made to hold a lot of weight.

For sofa: When it comes to the weight aspect you can use all legs that are recommended for sofa or bed on your sofa.

  • Harald 700 leg, if recessed to a 200x90x4 solid wood tabletop with threaded inserts, would it be stable?
    Karl
  • Hi Karl,
Thank you for your question. This tabletop is very big and heavy. It is hard to say if it will be stable enough with Harald legs. Harald comes with 20mm screws and I would sugest you to use longer screws to attache them to this kind of wooden board. I can not promise you this will be stable, the legs will be able to carry the weight but the table can still feel shaky.
We have a two week return policy. So you can of corse try if you want.

  • What is the weight capacity for the Harald 700? I have a 240 pound quartz top.
    Amy
  • Hello Amy,

    Thank you for your question.

We do not have an exact weight capacity for Harald. However, we would not recommend the Harald legs to a 240 pound quartz top unfortunately since we can not guarante that they can handle that much weight.

Just let us know if you have some additional questions.

    All the best,
    Amanda

  • How many legs would you recommend buying for the ikea Kallax shelving unit if it will be laying on its side with a small tv on top?

    Celina Del Toro
  • Hi Celina,
Thank you for your question. I would go for five legs. One in each corner and one in the middle back (or front if you want it to show). Also, connect the furniture to a wall to make sure it won't fall over. You should have received this kind of connection from IKEA. Otherwise, I know you can get a new one if you haven't saved yours.

  • Do you have weight recommendations specific to the Hedvig Arch? Since the design is such that the furniture's weight is distributed through the bracket instead of directly through the leg, I'm concerned about the ability of the legs to support as much weight as other designs.

Specifically, I'm hoping to use the Hedvig Arch on my Lillangen sink cabinet (24").

    Thanks for your help!
    Lisa
  • Hello Lisa,

    Thank you for your post.

If you plan to attach Hedvig Arch on the Lillangen sink cabinet (24") we recommend that you attach them with longer screws (other then the screws that are included in the order) in order to make it even more stable. However, we haven't tried those legs specific in a wet environment (bathroom) and thereby we can not guarantee that they will stay the same after a longer time.

Just let us know if you have any other questions.

    All the best,
    Amanda

  • Hi!
I'd like to replace the 4 Capita legs, as shown on the pick, with Carl 120mm for this cabinet (height 2 m x width 0.60 m x depth 0.37m).
Would it be stable? Please consider I keep vintage china inside.
    Thank you in front!

  • Hello Natalie,

Thank you for your message. Glad to hear that you are interested in Prettypegs for your furniture!

It it possible to use the Carl 120 legs for this unit. However, we strongly recommend that you attach the furniture onto the wall behind in order to avoid any risk that the furniture can tip over.

Just let us know if you have any other questions.

    All the best,
    Amanda

  • Hi - I’m wondering if the Siri 160s would hold a Hemnes bookshelf (and books). We would mount it to the wall. Thanks!
    Pete
  • Hi Pete,
Thank you for your question. The legs can hold this one if it is attached to a wall. But for Hemnes I think the problem is to remove the attached legs. The legs seams to be a part of the construction. It it is possible to remove these legs you can change to Siri, no problem.
Please let me know if you need any further help

  • Hi, I was wondering how much weight the Herald 170 can bear. I would like to use it for my sons’s bed made from birch ply.  It is possible him and a friend might end up sitting on it. Thanks.

  • Hello,

    Thank you for your question.

It's hard to say an exact maximum weight since it is very individual and depends a lot on how the legs are attached. However, our legs Harald are the legs we recommend for heavier pieces that require more rigidity. This metal furniture leg in steel is universal and works great for storage furniture, as well as bed legs or as sofa legs. Please have a look here how Harald is attached.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    All the best,
    Amanda

  • I am interested in Hedvig Little for a Besta unit. It is 3 cabinets as one unit. Right now I have 4 PP legs and it is fine. I just don't know if the different types of legs have different capacity for weight. We have a TV on top and use the interior shelves for various storage.
    Dana
  • Hello Dana,

Thank you for your question. Hedvig Little is a good alternative for Bestå and they are very stable. This metal furniture leg is designed to fit various storage units, cabinets and drawers.

  • Hello, I'm interested in the Carl 170 for the Kallax shelf (link here: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/kallax-shelf-unit-with-4-inserts-white-s59278307/). I plan to store books (novels, textbooks) in here + decorative objectives, so need something that can hold that weight. Would 4 legs be okay? If not, is it possible to buy 6 legs? I don't think I saw that option when I was browsing.

    Thank you!
    Lorraine
  • Hello Lorraine,

    Thank you for your question.
We have not measured the actual weight limit but if it would be more than 50 kgs, we would also suggest 6 legs. You can add extra support and stability by mounting Kallax to your wall so it won't tip over.

Let us know if you have any other questions

    Kind regards,
    Deniece
