Does Prettypegs legs work for all IKEA furnitures?

Prettypegs use mostly M8 bolts in order to attach the legs, as well as Ikea does for many of their furnitures. If you have an Ikea furniture with pre-drilled holes for M8 bolts, you can easily unscrew the existing legs and replace with Prettypegs. For Ikea furnitures without pre-drilled holes for M8 bolts, you can use our universal plates. The universal plates can be attached to the majority of furniture. Just make sure your furniture has a flat surface under the furniture, or a wooden frame where you can mount 20 mm screws. Furthermore, find more about our fittings here.

  • I am wanting to verify if I would be able to mount Prettypegs under my new ikea kitchen, your furniture legs are so beautiful, I am hoping they would fit under a sektion kitchen, thank you

  • Hi Barbara,
So glad to hear this 😀 I also hope you will find something that will work! I think it will work if you find legs in the right height. Are you in contact with someone who will build the kitchen? Or du you need my help in any way? Just let us know!

  • Hi there, Can I use prettypegs for the stockholm nesting tables?

    Crystal Fudge
  • Hello Crystal,

    Thank you for your question.

It is possible to use Prettypegs for Stockholm Nesting tables. Make sure to choose "other model" when you place your order. Then the universal plates will be included as well.

Just let us know if you have some questions.

  • I want to raise our IKEA EKTORP sofas (approx 10 yrs old) and wondering which legs will fit?  The existing posts are quite large.
I ordered Ikea Sofa replacement legs but the posts not large enough to hold them.  Many thanks.
    Anne
  • Hi Anne,
Thank you for your question. I am not sure how the legs are attached on that old model. The newer Ektorp has M8-thread where you can just attach any of our legs. Maybe the older version doesn't have this. Then you can chose "other models" instead of Ektorp. You will receive the universal fitting plates if you do this. You attached them with screws you will receive and they can be screwed in directly to the wooden frame.
Let me know if you have any further questions

  • I recently purchased the Svea legs for my straight Nockeby sofa. Does this sofa not require a total of 6 legs as the middle seems to require support from legs as well? I only received 4 legs.
    Ann Stoker
  • Hi Ann,
Thank you for your question. If you have a 3-seater Nockeby sofa you need six legs. For the 2-seater you won't need it. We always recommend our customers to use the same amount of legs for their sofa as IKEA recommends. This is to make sure the sofa is as stable with our legs on as with the original legs from IKEA.
If you need any further help with this, please send us an email to hello@prettypegs.com

  • Hi there, I’d like to use the legs for a Kallax cabinet on its side (four squares on the bottom by two high). When I select Kallax it suggests 4 legs - is this okay or should I have two in the middle too if it’s lying on its side? Thank you! Karen
    Karen Fieldhouse
  • Hello Karen,

    Thank you for your question.

Yes, we would recommend 1-2 legs in the middle as well in order to avoid any risk that the furniture will be unstable. You simply adjust the number of legs you want to order by using the +/- sign on the product page.

Just let us know if you have any other questions.

  • Can i use your legs for the vimle soffa from Ikea ?
    Emma
  • Hi Emma,
Thank you for your question. You can use or legs for Vimle. This sofa comes with very low legs from IKEA so just have this in mind when you choose legs. I think the legs from IKEA is about 5cm high and all our legs are higher than this. Our lowest legs are Theodor 80. They are 8cm. Many people want to make a sofa higher and if this is the case, just go ahead! No problem.

  • Hello! Do your leg kits work on the Ikea Ekerö chair? (Link to the mounting style here: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/assembly_instructions/ekero-armchair__AA-844521-4_pub.pdf) Thank you!
    Cody
  • Hi Cody,

    Thank you for your question.

The original legs are slightly angled and if you replace with our legs, be aware that the angle will change slightly and the chair will be more straight. When placing an order, be sure to select "other model" to include the universal plates you need to mount the legs.

Just let us know if you have any more questions.

  • Hello!

I'd like to add legs to a Godmorgon bathroom wall hung unit (Ikea does sell legs for this item, as an extra). Would this be possible, and which would you recommend?

    Thanks

    Cheryl.
    Cheryl Green
  • Hello Cheryl,

Thank you for your question and glad to hear that you are interested in our legs!

We recommend both our legs in aluminum and in wood for this unit. However, we cannot guarantee that they will stay in the same quality over time, as the furniture legs will be in a damp environment.

I'd like to add legs to the Godmorgon high cabinets in our bathrooms.
Do you think your shorter legs such as Bror slim 120 would be ok to use?
Look forward to hearing from you! Thank you.
    Rosa
  • Hi Rosa,

    Thank you for your post.

You can mount the Bror slim 120 on Godmorgon high cabinets. However, we can't recommend to use our wooden furniture legs in a bathroom since they aren't designed for usage in a wet environment. We know that some of our customers use our furniture legs in bathrooms, but we can't guarantee that the legs will stay the same after a longer time since they are made of wood.

Just let us know if you have any other questions.

  • Hello,I have old IKEA sofa (don’t know the model name) in black leather and I want to update the look of the legs. I just bought more recent one on IKEA web site that are designed to go with Landskrona model. Unfortunately, the bolts (I guess they are M8 size but I’m waiting for a confirmation) are smaller than mine and so it’s loose and not possible to fix them properly. So My question is: is your universal option (which I’m not sure it will do because of the underneath frame) is the only other option you propose for that kind of situation?
    Thank you!

  • Hello Caroline,

    Thank you for your mail.

Unfortunately non of our legs works together with this friheten sleeper w chaise. It is not possible to change the legs because the bed-part needs the exact height of the sofa-legs that comes with FRIHETEN.

  • I've seen pictures of the Ikea Ekby Alex shelf unit with legs attached and it looks great.  Do the fittings you supply with your table legs work with the Ekby Alex and are they easy to attach for a novice like me?!
    Miranda
  • Hello Miranda,

    Thank you for your question.

Is it this furniture you mean: https://www.ikea.com/se/sv/catalog/products/20192828/

We have not attached our furniture legs to Ekby Alex shelf ourselves and therefore we cannot recommend it. But, as long as there is a wooden surface/frame underneath that can take 20 mm screw, it is possible to mount our legs with the mounting plates that will be automatically included when choosing "other model".

Just let us know if you have any other questions.

I am looking to replace the very low Vimle legs by pretty pegs BUT we have the sofa bed built in. Will it work or will the sofa bed then kind of hang and be unstable?

    Thanks!

  • Hello Pam,

    Thank you for your message.

Unfortunately, we do not recommend our legs for the Vimle bed sofa since the legs on the bedpart is not replaceable and if you change the legs on the bed, then there will be a height difference unfortunately.

  • Hi,

I read the question and reply about the pegs for the Vimle sofa above. I would like to order and purchase the Estelle slim of 120 mm, but they look a bit slimmer than the (ugly) ones of Ikea. Are the Estelle slim 120 mm legs  suitable for the Vimle sofa or would it be better to purchase the Theodor 80 mm? Love all the stuff and will definitely purchase legs from the shop :-)
    Mirjam
  • Hello Mirjam,

    Thank you for your post.

Please see here where we show which legs we recommend for Vimle. On the top you see the "best match" for the Vimle sofa. The original legs on Vimle are quite low and thereby we have recommended our lowest legs. However, you can use Estelle slim 120 mm as well.

Just let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thomas
  • Hello Thomas,

    Thank you for your question.

It's is possible to use our legs for Flottebo. Currently, you find the choice of Flottebo
when you have selected "Sofa" as category and then a specific model of our legs, then you can scroll down in the list and select Flottebo.

    Sarah
  • Hi,

Can the legs be added to the havsta glass cabinet?
    Sheila
  • Hello Sheila,

    Thank you for your message.

In order to attach our legs on a furniture that do not have predrilled holes for M8, there has to be a flat wooden surface underneath the furniture where you can attach the universal plates. When we check the product description, we can see that the Havsta furniture has a narrow base frame, which make it difficult to attach our universal plates. One solution can be that you do not attach the frame and instead attach the universal plates directly under the furniture. However, we have not tried this ourselves and can thereby not ensure this will work. Thereby, we recommend you to have a look at furniture and the construction before you attach any legs.

Just let us know if you have any other questions.

    All the best,
    Amanda

  • Hi - would like to use the Theodore 120 legs on the Besta 70" media unit. 70" seems like a long way to span with just four feet - do you think that will be okay? It seems like the Theodore feet would look odd placed in the middle of the unit in addition to the ends, since only one side the the Theodore is angled. Alternatively, I could use just four feet, but bring the feet in from the ends... Any thoughts? Thanks!!
    Rebecca West
  • Hello Rebecca,

    Thank you for your question.

The Theodor 120 would be a great furniture leg for your Besta 70". However, like what you have mentioned, its design is angled and so will be the legs if you choose the same model for the mid-part. We always recommend the same amount as IKEA does for their furniture. According to IKEA, this TV bench requires 4 legs and 2 supporting legs. In order to avoid the furniture from bending in the middle, we thereby recommend one or two support legs in the middle as well.

Since we do not have any specific furniture legs that we call "support legs", you may instead just buy more of the legs (in this case the Theodor leg) you want to order. Another option is to combine it with any of our other models. Best options are the Iris 120, Estelle 120 or Arvid 120, which has got about the same height, with a steel or brass finish.

Please let us know if there are any other questions.

    Kind regards,

  • Hello Carley,

    Thank you for your question.

Yes, your IKEA Strandmon footstool would definitely be fit with the Siri 160 legs.
Please do not forget to select "Sofa" and the model, "Strandmon" when you are making a purchase, so that the appropriate bolts will be included in the package.

You may also find other compatible leg models by typing "Strandmon" at the search option.

We appreciate your time and are always happy to help if you have any further questions.

  • Hello
I have a Glasholm table top from 2015/2016 that i would love to re-purpose into a coffee table. The frosted glass itself is beautiful, but the mounts for the legs seem to be some outdated version. Would any of the coffee table sized legs fit for this? I am no all that worried about structural problems if the legs have a flat top and sit against the rounded bulge where the bolt goes. But i am worried that the bolts might be too long so they dont sit flush. If you notice on my legs, there is grease up to a certain point and then stops, presumably the length that goes into the table. Unfortunately, even after research, i have no clue what the name of these leg styles are. the number on the mount says 20799.

thanks so much! look forward to hearing back
    Curtis
  • Hi Curtis,

    Thank you for your post.
The bolts in our legs would be 2-3 cm sticking out on top.
Unfortunately, our legs all got flat heads and it will be unstable to have it attached through the dome type of mounting part of your Glasholm table top.
We have checked online to see the leg attachment model and it seems like these has become obsolete. You may contact IKEA for more information.
And if you still wish to try using our legs for your Glasholm table top, we suggest that you build a frame where you will attach the legs and place the Glasholm table on top.

We appreciate your time and are always happy to help if you have any further questions.

    Kind regards,
    Deniece
  • Deniece,

Thank you for the quick reply! I think I am going to just order them and try it out and see what happens if i just screw them in. Now my questions is.. Will the "tilted" legs work this way or do they require a bracket drilled into the table (not possible with my glass unless i build a frame as you suggested -- unfortunately im not that handy)? I know the straight ones will be easiest to screw in and work as-is, but if its at all possible to use the tilted version i would rather that look. Do you think the straight version is the only one that will work with my situation, or could i try the tilt?  I am not sure how the tilted ones work/screw into the correct angle, so thats why i am unsure. (glasholm Curtis from above comment).
    Curtis
  • Hello Curtis,

Sorry for the late reply. For the table legs, if you prefer the tilted ones, it will all depend on the mounting plate. We have a different mounting plate to keep it straight or tilted. If you wish to use tilted legs, we will need to attach the plate to the metal attachment dome of your Glasholm table top. We do not quite recommend this and not sure how this one can go.

Let us know if you have further questions.

    Best regards,
    Deniece
  • Hello,
I would like to know if the Carl 120 pegs (and/or Carl 170) are also suitable for the Stuva cabinet/cupboard which is 1m92 high (=> so not the small cabinet of 60cm, but the high one of 1m92).
Thank you in advance for your answer!
    Greetings,
    Klaartje
    Klaartje Verbeke
  • Hi Klaartje,

    Thank you for your question.
For storage, our legs can carry a lot, but a good way to know about weight limit is to look at the legs attached to the furniture when you bought it. If the furniture doesn't have any legs there might be similar products to look at for reference. There will probably not be a problem for the legs to hold the weight, but the furniture can feel unstable if you attach to high legs. This is also why we always recommend our customers to attach their cabinets and drawers to a wall.

This should not be a problem for as long as we will be mounting it to the wall.
But of course, they all got its weight limits. We just do not have the exact weight for it. We advice you to be careful.

We appreciate your time and are always happy to help if you have any further questions.

    Kind regards,
    Deniece
  • Hi, I would like to buy some furniture legs for the tyssedal ikea wardrobe white mirror glass. Would the Carl legs work? If so, what would be the height size recommendation? We are going to attach the wardrobe to our wall for safety reasons.

    Thank you.
    Marta
    Marta
  • Hello Marta,

Thank you for your question. You have an interesting and beautiful piece.
Yes, Carl 120 would work. We would suggest lowest height of legs we got in our collection to add beauty in it. Much more wonderful paired with white or brass. We would suggest Doris Brass 100, Otto 100 and Theodor 120 as well for you.
Hope it helps with your decision.

If there is anything else, please do not hesitate to write to us back so we can further assist.

  • Hello, would the universal mounting plate work on Ikea Sektion base cabinets? I plan to use three sektion base cabinets for stand alone furniture in an apartment rental so, not the usual entire Ikea kitchen. I want them to be taller so I hope Prettypegs can raise the height with the higher 200mm+ legs. Thank you so much. Stay safe!
    Sarah
  • Hi Sarah,

    Thank you for your question.
Yes, they will. There will be universal plates added automatically in your order if you select 'Other model'. Here's a link for more information about mounting using universal plates.
It would be great if you will also mount them to your wall.

Hoping for you and your loved ones good health and safety!

    Kind regards,
    Deniece
  • Hi Deniece,

Thanks for your response. I live in a rental apartment and am unable to mount anything to the wall. If all four Greta 175 legs are adjusted to account for uneven floors, will they still fully hold the cabinet weight?

    Thanks again, Sarah
    Sarah
  • Hello Sarah,

I see. Thanks for letting me know. That is a smart move! If each cabinet would stand with 4x Greta legs, we reckon that it should be stable even without being mounted to the wall.
If you encounter any problem in doing this project, please email us at hello@prettypegs.com so we can keep in communication!

We appreciate your time and are always happy to help if you have any further questions.
