Can I use your legs for Kivik sectional/corner sofa?

Hi —

I'm interested in 4.7 inch Carl 120 for my Kivik sectional, but the description reads "Kivik (only straight sofas)".

So, it certainly sounds like this disqualifies my sectional sofa ...but I'm not exactly sure why. Could you please let me know what the deal is?

  • Hello Grant,

    Thank you for your question.

Our legs will work great for the Kivik sofa that is straight. Unfortunately our legs will not work with the KIVIK corner/sectional sofa because of the metal frame underneath, that is holding the 2 parts together at a height that is lower than any of our legs.

Just let us know if you have any further questions.

    All the best,

  • Hi. I don't understand why it is impossible to use higher legs on the kivik corner sofa. There are similar legs under the corner, and the other sections. They have All the same height. Så if the legs are 5 cm and I replace them with 10 cm legs, why would that be different.
    Thankyou 😊
  • Hi Gitte,
We just realized this sofa model is changed. Before there where a problem with connecting the parts and change the legs. It looks like the model is changed thought. So no problem. You can of corse change to another height.
    Sorry for the miss understanding.

  • Hi there,

I also would like to mount new legs to a Kivik sofa with sectional/chaiselongue and am now a bit confused as to whether that's possible or not.....From your last answer I gather it now works due to a model change?

Also, in case it does work - do you have any recommendations regarding the size of the legs? My favourite are the "Dagmar" pegs and I'm wondering whether there is an advantage of either using the 12 or 17cm versions...

    Thanks a lot! Best, Leonie
  • Hello Leonie,

    Thank you for your question.

As my colleague Stina wrote, our legs will work on this updated version of Kivik. Regarding which height, both of 120 and 170 will fit well. It depends more on what you prefer yourself.

Just let us know if you have any questions.

    Wish you a great weekend.

  • After successful installation on my sectional Kivik, I can confirm that the 8 Carl 120mm legs support the sofa very well. Thank you, Amanda and Leonie.

  • do we need 6 legs for the kivik sofa with a chaise ?

  • Hello Arch,

    Thank you for your post.

We always recommend the same number of legs that IKEA has for their furniture. Since the sofa model Kivik sofa exist in an older and a newer version, we also recommend that you examine how the sofa looks below and makes sure that there is no metal frame that cannot be removed because it holds the sofa together. If that does not seem to be the case, it should be possible to replace all the legs.

Just let us know if you have more questions.

    Best regards,
